Late Friday Five...

What I'm reading..
This week I haven't really had much time to read, and when I was reading it was the *DSM IV* sadly diagnosing mental disorders. Although, I have been listening to The Stand by Stephen King from Audible.com so I don't go into complete book withdraw!  The Stand, if you're not familiar with Stephen King books is about a fight between good and evil after a super flu is released from a government testing facility and kills 99% of the population.  It's very long, but very interesting all the way through.  It has many different characters, good and bad, and you get to follow their journeys through the new world they have to create.

I have a new book I bought this week Rot and Ruin by Jonathan Mayberry and I am so excited to turn my senior paper in so I won't feel guilty about reading it.  It looks really interesting, and is about life after the Zombie Apocalypse.  It's a trilogy which I love, gives me more time to fall in love with the characters!

What I'm listening to..
I have been listening to a lot of different music this week but there is one song I have to share with y'all that has been in my head a lot!
It's such a cute song and I fell in love with Psy when he came on the MTV movie awards.  So have fun listening and try not to get it stuck in your head too!

What I'm watching..
Honestly, I hate to admit what I have been watching in the few minutes I can find to watch TV, but I feel as though I can be open with the people who stop by.  Don't Judge ME!
I know horrible right, I feel bad even sharing it with y'all, but I'll tell you like a friend of mine told me.  This show is like a train wreck,  once you see that it's happening you have to watch and see how big the wreck is gonna be!  And let me tell you this show is a HUGE wreck.  I feel everyone needs to be themselves, but if I had ever acted like that around my Gran she would have put me out of my misery!

What I'm eating..
This week I haven't really ate a lot except sandwiches, sad I know.  I love to cook, but with a month left till the due date on this project I can't seem to find enough time in the day to cook a good meal.  So I guess my secret weapon for energy and such would be ok to share...
These drinks really are amazing they are an espresso protein shake and I love them!

What I'm pinning..
It's Fall, and I have been procrastinating bringing out the warmer clothes, even though I am so excited to be able to wear them again.  Here in the South it gets cold, and then out of nowhere we have another warm spell.  Last year I got caught with all my nice light clothes neatly boxed up when than warmness came and visited West TN.  That will not happen this year!  I said all that to say this,  I have been pinning so many cute Fall outfits, most I know I will never own, but a girl can dream!

I have pinned a lot of quotes this week, mostly because I have needed a little boost on the happiness level and there is no better way for me than to read some good quotes such as these...

What I Believe...

Encouraging Bible Verse

I have a bad habit of becoming very overwhelmed.  I think everyone at some point becomes overwhelmed, whether it be with school, jobs, or life in general.  I find myself more and more taking moments and sneaking a little prayer to God to help me out a bit, and the greatest part is HE does.  I know that growing up I was taught to pray for my family and friends, we prayed at dinner to thank God for our food, but now as an adult I pray that God help me be a better person in situations I am put in.  I also pray that He helps me when I am overwhelmed and just think I can not go on.  I know that there were times in my life when I was at a cross road and sometimes I took the wrong path, and I regret that.  Other times I took time to ask God which way was best and guess what... when I listened he directed me!  God's way is always better than my way, even though sometimes my way looks so much more fun.  Just a thought...  are you at a crossroad, take time and say a little prayer, it may save you a whole lot of time back tracking!

It's Fall Y'all...

Fall is my favorite time of the year, I think it's because all of the wonderful memories I have made over the years of football, bonfires, and wonderful times with friends and family.  I think being from the south has also played a big part in my love for Fall.  My husband is a stereotypical "good ole' southern boy"  he farms, hunts, and loves to play in the dirt!  I on the other hand would rather sit on the front porch with a glass of sweet tea and watch him do all of the above from a rocking chair.  Over the years we have been together I have become a little more involved in some of his endeavors.  I will ride in the tractor with him every once in a while and I even have my own hunting outfit.  My favorite part of the Fall though is when it gets cool and all of our friends get together and ride four-wheelers in the bottoms and have bonfires.  What's everyone's favorite thing to do in the Fall?

Ok I Admit It...

I am a nerd!  I love all things magical  and mysterious.  I have always wanted to be a vampire and my trip to Disney World was made complete when Belle my favorite princess told me I was beautiful!  I have always been a nerd, I don't think anyone that falls into that category wakes up one day and says you know I think I want to be a nerd.  It just happens.  You learn to accept it and do not care that other's do not understand why you still love Harry Potter now that the movies are finished or why you want to re read books over and over even though they have been made into movies.  If you have never experienced the delight of feeling like a little kid because the new season of your favorite show has come back on and you have been patiently waiting and dreaming of what it was going to be like I feel for you.  It is an amazing feeling!  I think that adults need to hold onto at least a little part of childhood amazement because it is what keeps me from going crazy at times!

That's What I Love About Sundays...

Love

I love this Bible verse because there are so many things that we think we need and want at any given time.  Over the years I have learned that it is not about what I want.  It's about the bigger picture that God has in store for me, and all the time that plan is so much better than what I can ever imagine!  I love to plan and think about how I want my life to be, a huge family, wonderful job, and a peaceful life with my husband.  I also know that my dreams may not be what the Lord has in store for me.  I understand this because this life is not the end, I have an eternity of joy when I meet my Father in heaven no matter how things end up here on Earth!

It's Football Time...

So today I have been super productive and cleaned the house, did laundry, and decided I would try a new recipe I found on Pinterest.  I will preface this by say I am a HUGE Ole Miss fan and will be till the day I die no matter how many of my friends try to convince me to yell Go Big Orange.  I say this because I found a really yummy sounding recipe called Mississippi Roast and since it is game day I thought lets cook something to celebrate the Rebels. I substituted a couple of ingredients,  I used brown gravy mix instead of Au Jus, I also used pepperoncini rings (hubby doesn't like the big ones and its easier to hide the rings!), and trying to cut the fat a little I used a fourth of a stick a butter and a third of a cup of water.

Mississippi Roast

I got this wonderful crock pot roast recipe from a blogger named Laurie.
(Laurie's life: http://lseo.blogspot.com/) She got it from her husband's Aunt and lots of her blog followers are now sold on this roast.

1. Buy a chuck roast.

2. Put it in the crock pot.

3. Sprinkle Hidden Valley ranch dressing on top.

4. Sprinkle McCormick Brown Gravy Mix on top.

Put a stick of butter on top.

Put about 5 pepperoncini peppers on top.
(You buy them in a jar.)
.
Do NOT add water.
.
Cook in crock pot on low for about 8 hours.

The roast ended up super tender and the gravy was amazing I roasted some veggies to go with it, I heard that the mixes make the veggies really salty if you cook them together.  So all in all I will call this Pinterest recipe a success!

The Friday Five

  1. What I'm reading:
At the moment I am pulling books I love from my collection and re reading them.  I find that every couple of years I just want to go back to my ole faithfuls. They make me feel good.  Right now I guess with all the Fifty Shades of Grey madness going on, which I have not gotten sucked into yet,  I decided to start reading my Sleeping beauty trilogy by Anne Rice again!  They are very risque and are very much on the same line as the Grey series from what I hear.

2. What I'm listening to:
Pandora is my friend and I had some errands I had to run for the house and so I plugged my Iphone into Betty (my car) and cranked up the Coldplay channel.  There is just something about Coldplay that makes me feel good riding with the windows down!

 3. What I'm eating:
Well I have just recently discovered I am fan of Chobani yogurt. It is so good, not to sweet but not funky tasting like some other Greek yogurts I've had before.  The peach is my favorite!

I am also loving the 100 calorie guacamole packs that Walmart now has.  They are so good and taste homemade!  I am not the most healthy person, but I have been trying to make better choices so I use them on my turkey wraps that I make for my lunch instead of using mayo Nom Nom!

4. What I'm watching:
I am watching a couple of shows right now regularly.  Well I saw regularly technically I am DVRing a lot of my shows and watching them all on Friday nights because of the senior paperthat presently is the entirety of my life during the week and most of the weekend!  I am a little bit of a kid on some of my shows and I love them even if they are teeny bopperish!  On Monday I record Switched at Birth and at first I didn't know if I would really like it and continue watching, but I ended up and fan.
On Wednesday I record Paranormal Witness which I love. I have a soft spot for anything thing horror!  It is a little bit on the cheesy side sometimes though.  Most the time however they have a good story on and they are all different not just your same old Ohhmurgosh there's a ghost in my closet story!

  5. What I'm pinning:

Now to something I love love love Pinterest!  I am very much a pin freak so I get caught up on searching for things on Pinterest and go crazy for a day or two.  Here recently it is Disney.  My fixation comes from the trip I took to Disney World this summer with my best friend, and the many posts popping up in my feed thanks to another blogger Mandi from Finding Home.  I really enjoy all the different outfit ideas people put together for all the Disney characters.  Here are a few of my favorites.
